History

Vision Computing was founded by John Nottingham BVSc in 1988. John's experience as a Veterinarian led to the development of Vet Manager - a highly innovative solution for managing all the processes involved in a veterinary business.

Vet Manager evolved into VisionVPM - the most comprehensive integrated veterinary practice management system in Australasia. VisionVPM was purchased by Provet in February 2007.

With a background in the IT industry since 1980, Mike Dennehy joined Vision in 1994 and helped to develop and market Vision's property portfolio, initially comprising Real Estate Manager and Property Manager. These two products were readily accepted by the real estate and property management industry, and helped Vision to become the market leader in the property industry in New Zealand.

In 1995 Vision Computing incorporated and became a limited liability company, and in 1997 went on to be awarded Best New Business in the 1997 Tauranga Regional Business Awards.

In 1998 Vision Computing restructured and divested the Real Estate Manager software, and commenced development of two further property sector software systems - VisionCPM (Commercial Property Manager) and VisionBCM (Body Corporate Manager). Property Manager was upgraded and became VisionRPM (Residential Property Manager), and Vision's trading name became Vision Software, to more accurately reflect our core business.

In 2000 we welcomed Baden Turley as a Director. Baden came with a strong background in accounting, real estate and commercial property management, and assisted with business analysis, internal website development and other projects as required. Baden lives in Auckland, New Zealand.

In December 2004, Vision sold its residential property management software interests to Console New Zealand Ltd, and no longer operates in the residential market.

In October 2005 Vision won the prestigious award of Best Business - Service Industry in the Westpac Regional Business Awards, and received a special Judges' Commendation for a business with outstanding potential.

In February 2007 the VisionVPM veterinary practice management software business was purchased by Provet, a well-regarded veterinary products supplier based in Australia. In March 2007 Baden Turley left the business and ownership is now shared between John Nottingham and Mike Dennehy.

In February 2008 we appointed Diane Stanbra as Business Development Manager, New Zealand and opened an office in Auckland. More recently (in July 2010) Mike Dennehy relocated to the Sydney office as Business Development Manager, Australia.

Vision Software continues to grow, with renewed focus on developing domestic and international markets for our corporate real estate and commercial property management software solutions. Vision currently employs over 30 staff, situated at our offices in Mount Maunganui and Auckland, New Zealand and in Sydney, Australia.
