Our Team
Antony Howard
Antony joined Vision in March 2008 as a Technical Analyst, after emigrating from the UK in November 2007 with his wife Sue, and children Josie and James. Antony has a degree in micro-electronics and computing, and extensive experience in the software industry.
When not working, Antony is likely to be found struggling around the Mount trying desperately to keep up with John Nottingham. He has completed 2 marathons to date, and still thinks he's capable of a respectable time. Antony has become a strong All Blacks supporter - except when they're playing England of course. About England, Antony misses endless grey skies, the M6 and Cadbury's chocolate. Soon we'll explain to him that the best chocolate comes from Cadbury's in Dunedin, but not just yet.
Bernard Roux
Bernard joined Vision in May 2009 in a role providing Software Support and Testing, after emigrating from South Africa. Deciding that New Zealand and more specifically Mount Maunganui was where he wanted to move with his family, Bernard quit his job at an accounting software development company in Durban and made the big move to try and find a new position in a foreign land.
While that meant temporarily leaving his wife Tamaryn and 3 children Jarred Ethan and Cailyn, they have since joined Bernard and are settling in to their new environment. Outside of work Bernard is a keen badminton player and won many trophies in South Africa, even gaining provincial representation for Kwazulu-Natal. Bernard is still deciding which sports to play here in the Bay to drop the couple of kilos inexplicably gained while away from Tamaryn's cooking.
Catherine Morley
Catherine began working for Vision Software in May 1997 in Software Support looking after the Real Estate Manager and Property Manager programs. She left in 1999 to pursue a new career in Auckland and returned to us in 2000 prior to departing for the UK in 2001. In March 2003 Catherine was back, to take up a position in the VisionCPM software support team. Outside of work, Catherine enjoys sport and fashion, and her height and defensive skills are invaluable for the Vision indoor netball team.
Catherine works at Vision two and a half days a week after her second stint of maternity leave, and is a proud mum to her two boys, Ben and Joe (three if you count Gavin).
Darryl Chong
Darryl joined Vision in November 2007 as Testing Manager after 11 years in the US, where he worked with database analysis, administration, design and development. Since then he has transitioned into a Technical Analyst role, configuring customised applications for our corporate real estate clients.
Outside of the office and usual family interests Darryl enjoys playing and coaching soccer (sorry, football) all year round, and does his bit for the environment by riding his scooter to work. A bonus is the way he can blow past all the traffic stuck on Hewletts Road during rush hour, and a double bonus is that he's recently been joined at Vision by his wife Rae.
Diane Stanbra
Diane joined Vision in February 2008 as Business Development Manager for New Zealand. Diane qualified as an Accountant in London and has worked in a diverse range of property companies. Since 2002 Diane has been a client of Vision Software in property management roles at Trust Investments, Hanover Properties and St Laurence Group.
To ensure the Vision initiation of climbing the Mount was a one-off, Diane will be based in Auckland where the airport, Hauraki Gulf and Ellerslie Racecourse support her interests of travelling, boating and the occasional flutter on the horses. Everyone at Vision has their dollar ready to back her horse when it eventually makes it to the races.
Frank Cheng
Frank joined Vision’s Sydney office in December 2006 as a Business Analyst. He has a Bachelor of Science with majors in Computer Science and Mathematics, and has over five years experience as a Business Analyst. Frank enjoys travelling, and has worked in Auckland, Singapore and Hong Kong. He enjoys problem solving, movies, music, and hanging out with friends.
Gill White
Gill joined Vision in July 2005, and she's a true multi-tasker, providing first and second-line support to our VisionCPM and VisionCRE clients, as well as testing new versions, training staff and clients and assisting with UAT (User Acceptance Testing). Gill has a strong background in computer accounting support, and is often the very welcome first point of contact for users requesting assistance.
Gill has two great boys at primary and intermediate schools, and she spends her spare time running for fitness - and to compete in the Tauranga City to Surf which she did with some panache - and running the boys around in her role as unpaid chauffeur. She made a great centre in the Vision Software indoor netball team too.
Graham Orrick
Graham joined us in December 2003 as a member of the VisionCPM support team, and has now progressed to the role of Technical Business Analyst - this involves configuring and testing new software for clients. Originally from England, where he worked as a developer for British Airways, Graham has been living in New Zealand since October 2003. He is married to a Kiwi and their first child Liam was born in February 2007, with Graham as yet undecided whether he should play soccer for England or rugby for the All Blacks. If Graham has any spare time he enjoys listening to music, watching sports, and brewing and drinking his own beer.
Jo Newcombe Cook
Jo moved to Mount Maunganui from Auckland to join Vision in March 2006 as a Writer/Analyst. In October 2006 she took on the role of Business Analyst for the Commercial Property team. Jo has worked in a variety of IT roles over the years, including development, report writing, project management, analysis, training, and documentation. She and her husband Chris, and children Ellen and Leo, are all enjoying living so close to the fantastic Mount Maunganui beach, but miss family, friends, and babysitters!
Update: Jo is currently on maternity leave and in July 2010 gave birth to twin boys Isaac and Benjamin. Way to go Jo and Chris!
John Black
John joined Vision in January 2008 as a Software Developer, after 20 years in the industry in the UK, Christchurch, Wellington and Whakatane. John has a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science, and emigrated to New Zealand 8 years ago.
After working his way up the country, he stopped in the best place and outside of work John enjoys tramping, photography, kite-buggying and tending to his veggie garden. John also enjoys relaxing at the beach and travelling, and has visited many places in Asia, North America and Australia - so far.
John Nottingham
John is one of Vision's founding Directors and is our Chief Architect. Before the move to software development John was a Veterinary Surgeon. Combining his knowledge of Veterinary science and technology John created our first veterinary practice management application. These days John spends his time with property applications and research and development projects. John and his wife Gloria have three children - James, Tim, and Lucy. As a recent convert to running, John is a regular round-the-mount lunchtime sprinter, and would love to run the Rotorua Marathon if only his aged legs would let him.
Newsflash: In May 2008 John finally ran the Rotorua Marathon in the respectable time (for a man of his advanced years) of 4 hrs, 9 minutes. John declares he has unfinished business and will return to crack 4 hours next year.
Kate LePetit
Kate joined us in July 2000 to become a member of the VisionVPM software support team. She has since moved to the VisionCPM support team, where she does a variety of tasks including support, training and testing. Originally from Invercargill, Kate is in the process of developing a lifestyle block in Oropi. She is kept broke by her horses, has been known to bike 30km to work on the odd occasion, and holds the Vision record for the most Mount climbs in one day (five). Kate has also travelled extensively.
Kimberley Kelly
Kimberley joined Vision in December 2007 as Business Manager, after emigrating from the UK in August with husband John and children Grant, Fionn and Aaron. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England in 1992, Kimberley is busy knocking Vision's accounts and systems into place in record time.
Having sold their house in the UK and bought in Papamoa, Kimberley and her family are looking forward to enjoying everything that life in New Zealand has to offer, including the beach, biking, swimming and sight-seeing. They feel it has been a great move so far and they're looking forward to showing visitors from the UK what they're missing.
Lucy Davis
Lucy joined Vision in July 2009 as a Software Tester, and brings several years of business analysis and testing experience - as well as an MA in English Literature - to the role. Lucy has worked in a variety of software development and delivery roles across a number of technologies and industries, including avaiation, banking and telecommunications in both New Zealand and the UK.
Keen to get back to the great outdoors and a more relaxed liefestyle, Lucy has recently moved from London to Tauranga via Auckland, and is enjoying getting to know the area. She loves taking road trips around the country, swimming and films and is an almost life-long vegetarian. So if you need a good tofu recipe, Lucy's your girl!
Matt Cooke
Matt joined Vision in August 2006 in a Technical Support role, and was promoted to Software Developer in May 2008. Prior to his IT career, Matt was a chef for many years before studying Business Computing at EIT in Hawkes Bay. Although his original focus was in network management Matt developed a passion for software development which led to him pursuing career opportunities with a software development company.
Outside of work Matt loves nothing better than enticing a Bay of Plenty snapper or two onto his hook, spending family time with his wife and gorgeous daughter Libby, and landscaping his section in Te Puke. Matt is also a home-brewing enthusiast with (reportedly) very good results, and from time to time he reverts to his former career and produces a gourmet meal for family and friends.
Mike Dennehy
Mike's IT industry experience dates back to 1980, and he joined Vision in July 1994. One of Vision's Directors and the CEO, Mike also helps clients with property management software solutions that make their jobs easier, reduce business risk and add value to their bottom line. Mike and his wife Sue have two school-age children, Lauren and Daniel. He enjoys golf, snooker, fishing and beach time with his family, and wishes he used his new Concept 2 rowing machine more often.
Update: In July 2010 Mike relocated to the Sydney office where he will be acting as Business Development Manager for Australia, for the time-being. Loving the Sydney winter and looking forward to making some new sales, Mike has moved into an apartment in St Leonards and is making a splash. In the lap-pool every morning, that is.
Neal Whiteman
Neal joined Vision in April 2009, providing Software Support and Training services as part of the Customer Care Team. Neal has broad management experience and a strong background in software development and deployment.
Neal and his wife Jan recently returned to New Zealand to experience their first full winter in 8 years. Neal has two adult daughters, one living in New Zealand and one in the US, and his leisure pursuits include cycling, golf and walking (the Mount summit is regularly challenged - not sure yet who's winning).
Nisy John
Nisy joined Vision in July 2010 in the role of Software Tester. She has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications, and a Graduate Diploma in Testing, Quality Assurance and Business Analysis. Prior to joining Vision Nisy also worked as a Software Tester in Bangalore and Auckland.
Away from work, Nisy loves to walk on the beach collecting sea shells, and also enjoys cooking and painting local landscapes. Although she misses her family back in India, she enjoys being in New Zealand and loves the meadows, beaches and going to the farmers' markets.
Paul Jenness
Paul joined Vision in September 2008 as our Technical Manager after spending 11 years in various IT roles. A gasfitter and plumber by trade, Paul got sick of crawling under floors for a living and enrolled in a Business Computing course. He's still debating whether that was a good move for his sanity!
When not looking after the servers or out doing software installations for Vision's clients, Paul and his wife Cherie are busy completing the building of their house/barn and looking after 4 hectares, 10 cattle, 2 horses, 3 ducks and a dog. They occasionally take time to annoy their neighbour, Kate Le Petit, who happens to work across the road and has been with Vision Software since 2000.
Phil Coleman
Phil joined Vision in March 2006 as a Business Analyst working with the property management applications. Apart from a four-year sabbatical in Mexico, Phil has worked in application design and support since 1987 across a number of platforms, always with a focus on customer requirements. Away from work Phil helps raise two children with his wife Lupita, fits in the odd guitar lesson, and has been known to swim and jog when encouraged.
Pinakin Raval
Pinakin joined the Sydney Vision office in November 2006 as a Technical Business Analyst. He has a Bachelor of Information Technology as well as a Diploma in Information Technology. In his spare time, Pinakin has interests in music, cricket and software development.
Smita Pati
Smita joined Vision's Sydney office in March 2010 as an intern, to gain experience in the IT industry and learn about the software development lifecycle. Currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Software Engineering degree at The University of Technology, Sydney, Smita works part-time with us each morning.
Despite studies and assignments taking up most of her time, Smita enjoys swimming, going to the beach and camping - and count her in when trying out new restaurants and cuisines. Smita is good with people but even better with animals around her. Every year Smita returns to visit her parents in New Delhi, to be part of an annual family trip to destinations within India.
Sonia Nesci
Sonia joined Vision's Sydney office in March 2010, providing Software Support and Training services as part of the Customer Care Team. Sonia has a total of six years experience in Information Technology, in areas of Support, Training, Consulting and Business Administration.
Away from work Sonia captains a mixed soccer team and loves going to the gym. She also keeps busy with her own fashion business, helping friends and clients with colour matching, shopping for outfits and general fashion styling.
Stacey O'Toole
Stacey joined Vision in December 2006 as Project Co-ordinator, and was promoted to Project Manager in October 2007. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture), and has experience as a Business Analyst and Tester. Stacey has milked cows in Ireland and New Zealand, and holds certificates in Thai massage, foot reflexology, and Reiki. She also enjoys tramping, swimming, and watching Ireland’s national sport of Hurling. Stacey has recently developed a strong interest in rugby, sort of, with her new agile project management methodology - Scrum.
Steve Ediker
Steve joined Vision in November 2007 in a Software Support role, after emigrating from the UK in August 2006 with his wife Cathy and children Jack and Georgie. He has since moved into Software Testing, where his 20 years of IT experience - predominantly in development, analysis and systems analysis in the mainframe world - is being put to very good use.
Away from work Steve spends most of his time running around after Jack and Georgie, whether it be organising Jack's fishing trips or ferrying Georgie to and from basketball, kiwi tag or swimming. The family loves to jump in a campervan and tour some of the beautiful parts of the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel - taking Jack's fishing rods of course.
